a challenge for you

July 30, 2008 · 1 Comment

i have been visiting watermarke church for the past couple sundays. it is a satellite church off andy stanley’s church north point. i have really been enjoying watermarke. the teachings have been encouraging to me, as well as inspirational.

this sunday andy stanley spoke about his summer vacation. i think he really spoke it about a month ago, but watermarke showed the video this week.

i want to challenge you to listen to “my summer vacation,” on the north point website. once you get here, click on “my summer vacation.” the message is about 40 minutes long. listen to it while you are looking a facebooks or while you are getting ready, sometime.

the message talks about the country of rwanda and the powerful ideas that caused drastic changes.
i would type it all out here, but i think it would be better if you could listen to it. once you have done that, let it soak in, and let me know what you think.

the week before i heard this, i was struggling with forgiving some people for minor things. i wanted to forgive them, but i just could not understand why they would not call me back or make time to hang out with me. this message hit home with me. forgiving is hard, although it seems like it should be simple since Jesus has forgiven me. He died for me. i should be able to forgive someone for just forgetting to call me back. Lord, i need your strength. this message is helping me to be quick to forgive. it will be a challenge for me. i want people to know this story. i wish this could be taught in schools. forgiveness. imagine how things could be different.

i am challenging you to listen to this message and to forgive. i am taking the challenge, too.

rwanda forgives.

love.

so, let me tell you about today…i met up with my roommate, anna, at ikea. we shopped around and bought are bedding. we ate at california pizza kitchen in atlantic station, which was really good. i would reccomend the bbq pizza or the santa fe pizza! then we went to the h&m. it was really cool. i got a few things, and then we headed to target to see if we could find some other things we needed. the whole day we talked and got to know each other. we have a lot in common, not like our favorite color, but morals, past experiences, and some things we are still dealing with. i am glad that we get along. today made me start to get excited for college. two weeks from thursday i move out.

i put my two weeks notice in this week. weird, really weird.

i made a dumb mistake tonight, nothing deadly, but it is permanent unless replaced…
do not you acetone to clean your macbook. it is bad news. after reading some articles online to “use NON acetone” products, it is too late for dear melrose.

august 1, i am having people over for a “farewell for now” party. drop by when you can. hot dogs and hamburgers.

i wish ace of cakes was on tv. i rarely watch tv, especially by myself. but at this moment, i would love some some ace of cakes. saved by the bells is on…

confession: i always get on to people when they let their chi pet die on their dashboard. well, mine passed on june 25th. it was entirely not my fault. i was on vacation, and i thought if i put it in hibernation mode, it would be fine. it was a great 7 or so months, 7 months and 9 days to be exact.

the words “his love is greater than ocean” have been going through my head these past couple days. it is crazy that God’s love covers across oceans and can reach every single person. i am so blessed to be one that has seen his love. i hope i can pass it on.

have a good weekend.

love.
